How to fully backup Windows 10 or 8.1 PC on a storage device

Periodical backup of your Windows PC can help you restore valuable settings, documents and software in cases where a system failure occurs leading to loss of some data. The Image backup feature in Windows 10 and 8.1 is a bit-by-bit copy of your entire system which includes desktop programs, windows applications and all your personal files. 

Although, in one of my previous posts, i talked about a very fast and easy way to restore your PC when it begins to malfunction by creating a System Restore Point using Script . In cases where Windows can't find a restore point to fix a problem, restoring your backup file will definitely do the trick in putting your Windows PC in order.

Requirements
  1. Your Windows 10 or 8.1 PC
  2. Hard or flash drive with enough space for the back up 

How to Fully BackUp your Windows 10 or 8 PC

  • Launch the control panel
  • left-click File History

  • Towards the bottom of the File History Window, Click System Image BackUp as seen in the screenshot below.

NOTE: Make sure you already have your Hard disk drive plugged in. 
  • Click Next > Confirm then click Start Backup to begin the process.
NB: You can also use DVD disks for the backup process but it would take longer time to complete so i suggest you use an external hard drive or flash drive with more than enough space.
